LOBO! LOBO! LOBO! LOBO! (Can you tell I get a tad excited when any new Lobo book comes out?)
I’ve been avoiding any of the Deadpool spin-off books, but this one guest-stars Hercules and is written by Fred Van Lente, who is doing great work on that book, so at least worth the look-see. No promises on any future issues, though, unless Van Lente is going to be writing them. If that’s the case, I may drop the main series and start picking this one up.
Apparently, Grell’s story was only a two-parter, so we’ll see if he’s back for Warlord next month or if whoever wrote the first unimpressive arc is. If it ain’t Grell, I’m not interested.
Vampi’s still only $2. I’m worried the story ends stupidly, and they didn’t think they could sell the next series if this one cost too much.

Because it was an otherwise short week, I picked up Moon Knight, which has gotten mixed reviews, but at least looks pretty, plus the Madame Xanadu: Disenchanted TPB.
Nothing else really to add.

Pretty standard week. Decided to give Dominic Fortune a try since I like that old-school spy/pulp stuff, and Howard Chaykin usually does at least a competent job.
I’m not enjoying Batman: SOG as much as others, so I don’t know how much longer I’ll be getting this. I think I’m just sick of Hush. I didn’t mind the “R.I.P. — Heart of Hush” story, but Dini seems to be hell-bent on using him. I’ve already decided to drop Gotham City Sirens, so he better show me something amazing in this issue, especially at $4 a pop.

Surprisingly, the new Paul Dini Batman series aren’t doing much for me. I think after last week’s Streets of Gotham, I’m done with it. Sirens was so-so last month, but had an interesting cliffhanger, so I’m giving it a second issue.
Hopefully, it was just the pointlessness that was “Messiah War”, but those were a few long months dealing with that ultimately frustrating crossover. If X-Force looks to be getting back on track, I’ll keep getting it, but if I’m ho-hum after this issue, I’m done with it, too.
Domino Lady hasn’t been getting good reviews, but I’m a sucker for pulp stuff, so I’m giving it a chance to see if it’s something I enjoy.
DETHKLOK!!! ‘Nuff said.
