Northlanders looks to be the stand-out book of the week.
Batman I’m more curious about than looking forward to. Who knows? Maybe Daniel will surprise me.
Veronica and Special Forces I picked up because it was a short week and I’ve got the rest. It’s the last issue of Veronica, which has been pretty generic. Special Forces I’ve had mixed feelings about. We’ll see if I continue to get it or not.

I left the latest issues of New Avengers and Ms. Marvel on the shelf. New Avengers has gone up to $3.99, and that series was barely passable at $2.99, so now it’s a no-brainer. Ms. Marvel has been mediocre at best, and in the new economy, I don’t think it’s a good idea to be shelling out cash for something I only moderately enjoy.

It was a short week, so I went ahead and picked up Scarlet Veronica #2 sight unseen. We’ll see if that turns out to be a mistake or not.
Epilogue is interesting, but I’m not sure it’s good enough to justify a $3.99 price tag, which is the reason I left Dark Reign on the shelf this week.
Everything else is stuff I’ve been reading, so no real surprises there.

- Black Terror #1 — A little too much recap of the Project: Superpowers finale, and not enough new story. I’ll give this one another issue to actually get going, but I’m not super-excited about this one, either. C
- Detective Comics #850 — Damn, but Dini knows how to tell a good yarn. Very good. A
- Neozoic #7 — The invaders attempt to turn the people against their former defenders. People die, and Lilli has an idea. Have I mentioned how much I love this series? A
- Scarlet Veronica #1 — Pretty standard origin stuff. The art could use a little refinement, as it looks like it was inked with a Sharpie instead of a pen. The heavy inks might work okay in the night scenes, but it really detracts from the story in the daytime ones. If the creators haven’t come up with a creative twist to the story, it’s probably going to be generic Chaos!-style fare. I’ll probably flip through #2 in the store before I pick it up. C
- Wolverine #69 — Ah, here we go. Wolverine finally starts kicking ass again. We’re promised the story of whatever “broke” him next issue. McNiven’s art is top-notch once again. A

Detective concludes “R.I.P. – Hush”, which has been good.
As I’ve said before, I’m loving Neozoic. This issue is the first one that contains nomenclature it’s a limited series. Hopefully, this is just the end of the first storyline, because I’ve enjoyed this since it started.
“Old Man Logan” continues in Wolverine.
Black Terror and Scarlet Veronica both looked interesting, and since it was a short week, I decided to take a chance.
